Senior Developer / Team Leader

Job Description:
We are looking for a senior developer/ team leader for our office in Locarno. You should have the technical expertise to expand an existing ERP system for small to medium-sized companies with Java and to develop new functional modules. Your tasks include leading a team of software developers, performing system tests as part of quality control and developing high-quality software products within a reasonable time. You will also be responsible for consulting with management and reviewing and adapting standards and guidelines.
Your skills:

Ability to develop practical solutions and to accompany the implementation at the customer

At least 5 years of relevant IT experience

Good communication skills and experience in team management

Ability to create informative documentation

Experience in using version management (ideally subversion)

Ability to create and adhere to project schedules

Ability to use existing resources optimally

Appreciative handling of contributions from team members

Effective communication with project management

Motivation to find and implement alternative solutions

Understanding how to handle sensitive information

Experience in the implementation of test methods and their continuous support
Specific Programming Skills:

Willingness to use Netbeans as the primary development environment for separate projects, other products may be used

Familiarity with the introduction and implementation of standards in the source code

Extensive experience in programming and designing with Java

Ability to implement well-organized designs in source code
-
Understand the benefits of different design methods and patterns
-
Good knowledge of identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks

Extensive knowledge of the client-server architecture
Specific Skills in Dealing with Databases:

Practice in dealing with modern database concepts and designs

Ability to implement different designs for databases
-
Many years of practical experience with at least one relational database
Desirable additional qualifications:

Knowledge of the Swing Gui components

Experience with a web environment, e.g. the ZK framework
